IOR's Newbie, Ball & Chain Run. Gorman March 23-24, 2013

Postby Dirty LJ » Wed Mar 20, 2013 10:16 am

Would like to see some Trailblazer representation out there this weekend!!

Here is the info:

Where? = Hungry Valley OHV Park, Gorman California. The Aliklik Campground
When? = March 23-24, 2013
Who is invited? = anyone with a 4x4 and a good attitude!
Cost? = $0.00 !!! This is not an event, but a run with a lot of people out to have a good time.

This is one of IOR's biggest runs of the year. The Newbie / Ball & Chain run is an opportunity for new 4-wheelers and the wives (or hubbies) of experienced 4-wheelers to learn the ropes and have fun in a safe and easy environment. There is an obstacle park at Aliklik campground that has something for everyone; from easy hill climbs and small rocks, to huge boulders and an artificial waterfall that will test the best rig and most experienced drivers. And the beauty of it all, is that it is all within walking distance of camp! There will be lots of very experienced and knowledgeable off-roaders willing to help and spot inexperienced drivers. This is all about bringing new folks into the hobby and to give the more experienced folks a chance to pass on what they know!

The campground itself has clean pit toilets and is an easy drive for any size RV. It is all dirt, so you can tent camp anywhere. You need to bring your own food and drinks. Some campsites will be wild and crazy after-hours, but there will be plenty of quiet areas to camp away from the crazy folks.

Some of the festivities will be:

* Free CB tuning courtesy of Desert Dog
* Prizes for the first 2 vehicles to make it up the big rock climb without assistance (no buggies)
* Guided Saturday night run up the famous "Henry's Crack Trail" (easy-moderate)
* Big raffle on Sunday morning
* Prize for the biggest "trail fail" of the weekend!

Lots of good quality pictures and video will be taken, which you can download for free from the Infectious Off-road Website or Facebook page.

So bring out the newbs and take the ball & chain out for a weekend of fun with Infectious Off-Road.
