BAKERSFIELD TRAILBLAZERS
MINUTES
DATE: 10/07/2020
PLACE: ZOOM MEETING
Meeting was called to order by President Jeremy Rowell @ 7:03
INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
Guests present were: Josh Morton, Terry Work
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING:
Approval of the Minutes of the previous meeting, 9/2/2020, was tabled until the next meeting.
TREASURERS REPORT:
See Attached
MEMBERSHIP REPORT:
No Report
UP COMING EVENTS:
Calico, 10/17/2020, there has been a good response to Calico. Some modifications have been made. No dinner will be served. The raffle has been moved to the big parking lot. There is room to spread out. Rob reported there were 20-25 vehicles per run. Jared said any help would be appreciated from Pt. Mugu. Mike McGarity will bring PA system. Weather looks good for the event.
Jeremy reminded everyone about Panamint Valley Days 11/11-13/2020
Freedom Flag Run Sunday, October 10, 2020 @ 3:00pm. Meet Grover Beach end of Grand Ave.
Coastal Commission hearing 10/08/2020. Voices really count. If possible, sign up to be able to speak at the meeting.
Air pollution District hearing BOD meeting 10/23/2020. Please sign in to speak.
New Business:

MINUTES CONT:

TRIP REPORTS:
Dave and Lois traveled some of the Mojave Trail. Viceroy mine-guzzler project. They saw 4 big horn sheep up close. Ended up at Searchlight and came back.
High Sierra Poker Run: Rob led our Dusy-Ershim Run. Trailblazers left camp Saturday at 9:00. Saw smoke in the distance. Stopped for lunch at the lake. Fire was very visible at the lake. Headed back and ran into Nancy Rocha. Base camp was totally empty. Morning runs turned around about 11:00am Saturday. It was a little disturbing coming back to an empty camp.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Terry Work voiced his concern about Hungry Valley. People are disrespecting the area, camp rules and the safety of campers.
Still working on the SxS issues.
Jeremy reported restaurants are still closed. Not sure when we will be able to meet in person.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned @ 8:02
