Eclipse Sunday

Postby Jimmiej450 » Wed May 16, 2012 12:42 pm

A partial eclipse will be visible in our area from about 5:15 to about 6:30 our time. Should be about 75%. Will be in the Northwest sky fairly low. Some place like Comanche Point, or on 223 above Arvin would be good vantage points.
A WORD OF CAUTION here is important! DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN!
Use a small hole in a piece of cardboard as a pinhole camera lens to PROJECT an image onto another surface. Look at the PROJECTED image only. According to one source, a #14 welder's lens may be used to view the sun directly.
The brightness would likely destroy a CCD in a digital camera, also.
