Sherman Trail 7/14/12

I hit the gas station by my house around 7:10. Pumps were crazy slow and I had to fill my truck and Jeep! Needless to say I didn't get to the Chevron till 7:40. Everyone was long gone. I mad the trip through the cyn and passed most everyone in Kernville. I parked my truck n trailer near the Sherman Rd exit and unloaded my Jeep. Bronco Joe and Jess were already there and unloaded. Everyone showed up about 10 minutes later and headed for the Sherman trail at the Bonita entrance. Jess and I stayed back to wait for someone that was in the restroom. About ten minutes later we headed up. The 3 of us ended up missing the turn off (as none of us had went in that way before) and drove about 8 miles and decided to turn around. Got Jon on the cb and managed to catch everyone.

This entrance to the trail is much better. It's very scenic and the trail is rocky. We should go in this way more often! There were about 15 rigs and some new faces. We had great weather (in the mid 70's) and great company. We hit up the peak overlook for a bit and then headed out. I got home around 6. It was an outstanding day!
